Discussion Guides

Reading Groups Leaders will find their club discussions much aided by the reading guides that many publishers provide free. Also leaders can logon to BookBrowse.com for guides by title, author or genre. Since these guides often give away the plot club members should leave it up to their leaders to study them.

You may not find guides for books that are not fairly recent, but BookBrowse to the rescue. They have directions for writing your own guide. From basic questions like who wrote the book and what do you know about her, to what are the key themes and how did you react to the book.

Most book stores stock discussion guides for the books they sell, so you might be able to pick up several next time you buy a book. Authors are beginning to include them in the back of books, especially paperbacks.
